步兵是世纪帝国II的陆军的四大类别之一,其余三项为弓兵、骑兵、攻城武器。
绝大多数的步兵都是近战单位,装甲值、生命值、移动速度一般来说也相对较低,乍看下很弱。但步兵很廉价,游戏初期即可训练,训练速度快,攻击力偏中高,使步兵也可能是非常重要的单位。
