Mythology[]
“ | Age: 1500 years Homeland: Kunlun Mountains, Mythical Realms Occupation: heavenly general and guardian Yang Jian, also known as Erlang Shen, is a famous protection deity in Chinese legends. He is often depicted as a young general with a third eye on his forehead. He wields a three-pronged spear, and is usually accompanied by his loyal hunting dog. Yang Jian appears in many Chinese legends. According to one story, his mother was a fairy who was punished and imprisoned under Mount Tao for marrying a mortal. Yang Jian grew up and eventually split open Mount Tao to rescue his mother. In the novel 'The Investiture of the Gods,' Yang Jian, as a powerful deity, participated in the battles to overthrow the Shang dynasty. |
