Tactics[]
Wuzu Javelineers are very effective against ranged soldiers such as archers and Throwing Axemen, but are rather ineffective against most other units. Unlike Egyptian Slingers and Greek Peltasts, but much like Atlantean Turmae, they are fast, with a movement speed of 4.8, which allows them to push an attack on ranged units that are retreating, or to attempt a retreat from slower units themselves.
Wuzu Javelineers are rather expensive, costing 75 wood, but only 10 gold, making them a valid choice if the player is running low on gold and wishes to conserve it for something else. Due to their speed and range, they can uncover a decent amount of the map if used to scout, but they are best left to their counter-ranged role.
In-game dialogue[]
Uses Yan Feifeng's dialogue lines, except for one of the attack lines that belongs to the White Horse Cavalry.

A special variant of the Wuzu Javelineer is available in the Scenario Editor. Compared to the standard Wuzu Javelineer, it has more hit points, inverted hack and pierce armor values, a higher attack, higher damage multiplier against infantry, and a slightly lower damage multiplier against ranged soldiers. It also has a lower range and Line of Sight.
History[]
“ | The Wuzu Guards were renowned elite infantry units of the Wei state during China's Warring States period. At this time, China was divided into several powerful states, with Wei located in the central region. Due to the strength of the Wuzu Guards, the Wei state was able to maintain its dominance for multiple generations of rulers. According to an ancient Chinese source: "The Wuzu of the Wei clan were selected based on their stature. They wore triple-layered armor, wielded crossbows capable of shooting twelve-stone arrows, carried fifty arrows on their backs, and mounted a ge on top. They wore helmets, carried swords, and bore three days' worth of food. By midday, they could march a hundred li (approximately 50 kilometers)." |

Trivia[]
- In the Chinese localizations of the game, the unit is named 标枪武卒. It is derived from the name of the Wei Wuzu (魏武卒), an infantry unit established by Wu Qi (440–381 BC) during the Warring States period.
