William Walrus is a unit in Age of Mythology: Extended Edition.
Technologies[]
Overview[]
William Walrus is a giant Walrus, having the same icon and stats as the Living Poseidon Statue. Although his rollover text describes him as a myth unit, he isn't actually considered one by the game's code. William Walrus turns into a normal-sized, naked walrus when attacking, being bored, and dying.
It is unknown what purpose he serves, as he is a hidden unit, and one must look for and remove the <flag>NotPlayerPlaceable</flag>
under his definition in the Proto XML file to enable him for Scenario Editor usage. It is possible that he is meant to be cheat unit, but if he is, his cheat code is unknown or not implemented.
Trivia[]
- The unit is a clear parody of the Scottish hero William Wallace, sporting similar armor and face paint worn in the 1995 film "Braveheart".
- In addition, its In-Game Help section refers to the same character's war cry in the movie.
