| “ | Outlaw-type units (Wildwest, Wokou, Maratha, etc) are recruited much faster and gain more attack and hitpoints with each Age-up. | ” |
| —In-game description | ||
Wild West is a technology in Age of Empires III: The WarChiefs that can be researched by Federal American civilizations at the Saloon in the Fortress Age (Europeans in the Industrial Age before the Definitive Edition), Native American civilizations at the Native Embassy once the Gun Running is reached, and the Spanish upon revolting to Mexico. Once researched, it increases the hit points and attack of outlaw units by 20%, and decreases their train time by 50%. For the Federal American civilizations and Spanish, Peacemakers is its further upgrade.
Since the Definitive Edition, it also further increases the hit points and damage of outlaws and treasure guardians by 30% in the Industrial Age, and by 50% in the Imperial Age (to a total of +100% for outlaws and +80% for treasure guardians).
The Captured Mortar is excluded from the training time decrease, but gets +60% hit points and damage in the Imperial Age.
