—Freyja upon casting Wild Fire |
Wild Fire is a Norse god power in Age of Empires: Mythologies available to worshipers of Freyja. It causes flames to sweep the battlefield, damaging all enemy units.
Strategy[]
On the turn it is cast, Freyja causes flames to seek out and damage all enemy units across the map. If used at the beginning of the players turn, it enables them to follow up with an attack against a weakened enemy army blocking their path. This makes it more likely for their units to kill their targets, thus take no counterattack damage. Thanks to the movement bonus they gain from Freyja, cavalry units can even pursue units which try to retreat following this devastating blow. Wild Fire is more powerful when used earlier in the game as most civilizations will not have access to Priests until Age III, leaving few options to heal their units. It should also be worth noting that Wild Fire will instantly kill any enemy unit in training while their HP is still at 25%. This can be used to rid an enemy base of units and follow up with siege type units which can level the buildings without wasting an attack.
Trivia[]
- The premise of Wild Fire is similar to Inferno, a god power that was intended for the Egyptians in the Age of Mythology Beta.
