This article is about the wild animal in Age of Empires II. For the herdable animal in Age of Empires II and the wild animal in Age of Mythology, see Chicken. |
The Wild Chicken is a huntable animal in Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, added with update 141935. Unlike other huntables, they cannot be lured or pushed too far away, as they have limited movement and will remain close to their spawn origin at all times. They appear in three color variations (white, brown, and black).
While Chickens tend to spawn in groups twice as large as equivalent groups of Deer, they have less than half the food provided by Deer. On the other hand, they also lose food at half the rate due to decay, compared to Deer.
Trivia[]
- Wild chickens exist in real life as junglefowl, where the red junglefowl (a wild chicken found in the Indian subcontinent, parts of southern China, and Southeast Asia) is one of the ancestors to the domesticated Chicken.
