Tactics[]
The White Horse Cavalry is a strong and quick light cavalry, comparable to the Norse Raiding Cavalry and Greek Hippeus. Unlike these, it is available only from the Heroic Age, and only from the Fortress-type building, which is slow and expensive to set up. They benefit, however, from higher hit points and pierce armor than the Raiding Cavalry, while having a much higher gold cost. Compared to the Hippeus, the White Horse Cavalry has slightly higher hit points and attack, while also being marginally more expensive. In general, White Horse Cavalry serve their role as anti-ranged soldiers, raiders, and siege- and ranged-hero-snipers very well. Their periodic ranged attack ability is not automatically cast by default, unlike most other charged abilities, and the unit is mostly better off not using it, as it does paltry damage while also causing the unit to stop for a few moments as it rears up and shoots.

History[]
“ | The White Horse Cavalry was an elite light cavalry unit in China during the end of the Han dynasty. Known for exclusively riding white horses, it was organized by Gongsun Zan and initially served as his elite bodyguard. Eventually, the force grew from a few hundred soldiers to thousands. They were then deployed in northern China against the nomadic tribes, terrifying the nomads with their discipline and skill. The soldiers were trained in both mounted archery and close combat charges. |
