Trivia[]
- Due to a bug, the Spartans can research the Elite War Chariot upgrade despite not having access to the unit line.
- For unknown reasons, the Elite War Chariot upgrade is not researched in Post-Imperial Age starts.
- War Chariots are effectively unique to the Achaemenids, but are still marked in blue in the technology tree, like non-unique units, and appear crossed out in the technology trees of the other civilizations.
- Another discrepancy is that they have the unique unit armor class, despite the technology tree stating otherwise. This could indicate they were originally considered for a unique unit, before being turned generic or regional.
- In the best-case scenario, the Achaemenids can research the Elite upgrade in just 16.7 seconds.
- The Classical Age War Chariot is based on Achaemenid Persian chariots due to the lack of a metal helmet on the charioteer, lack of horse barding, and the presence of a spara shield.
- The Elite War Chariot is based on Seleucid chariots due to the Thracian-Attic helmet worn by the charioteer, horse barding, and Hellenistic thureos shield.
