Veteran Contract is a technology in Age of Empires IV: The Sultans Ascend that is unique to the Byzantines and can be researched at the Mercenary House starting in the Castle Age. Once researched, it upgrades Hardened Mercenaries to Veteran Mercenaries. More specifically it upgrades:

It can also be researched at the Golden Horn Tower, but at half the speed. When it is researched within the influence of a Cistern with the Dialecticus ability active, the research speed of this technology is 30% faster per water level at the Cistern.

- Originally, Veteran Contract cost 100 food, 250 gold and took 60 seconds to research. With update 10.0.576 it costs 50 food, 125 gold and takes 30 seconds to research.
