Pueblos is the Imperial Age unique technology for the Anasazi. When researched, it causes all military buildings to fire arrows.

Barracks fire three arrows, Archery Ranges five, and Siege Workshops one.

Strategy[]

Pueblos would be particularly useful, since the Anasazi are an archer civilization, and Archery Ranges would most likely be built as close to the enemy lines as possible. However, Barracks would be built near enemy lines too, since the Anasazi possess decent Eagle Warriors and Champions as well. Causing both of these buildings to fire arrows would give added protection to the unit production, especially since military buildings are usually built in clusters.

One strategy the player can potentially go for is to drop Archery Ranges in the opponent's base. Given that the Anasazi are skilled with archers, the Archery Range drop would serve a dual purpose: to aggressively shoot arrows and produce Arbalesters to build up an army quickly. Archery Ranges have about a fourth the damage output of a Castle, but building several in one place will cause damage to rack up very quickly.

Barracks have less damage output than Archery Ranges, so they can supplement the Ranges in terms of defense, while also producing Elite Eagle Warriors.

Team bonuses[]

  • A team containing Berbers: With Kasbah researched, researching Pueblos is 25% faster.

History[]

pueblo was the name for a settlement that the Anasazi, more recently known as the Ancestral Puebloans, would build. Most were made out of adobe, but some, like the famous Cliff Palace, were hewn out of a rock face.

Trivia[]

  • Artillery, Crenellations, Great Wall, and Pueblos are the only unique technologies in the game that cost stone (Boiling Oil was removed in Definitive Edition.)
  • Archery Ranges fire the most arrows and have the most damage output out of the three buildings as a reference to the tower present in the structure itself. The tower has no effect on gameplay, but it functionally assists with defense due to the extra arrows.
