The Georgians are a Caucasian infantry civilization introduced in Age of Empires II Definitive Edition: Steppes & Crusaders. They have a specialty of infantry, though their cavalry is good too, with a cavalry unique unit, Steppe Lancers, and Light Cavalry with extra attack. They represent the Kingdom of Georgia, also known as the Georgian Empire. Georgian towns were run by administrators named amiri. These administrators protected every town and made sure they ran smoothly. As a result, their Town Centers have extra garrison space per age. Infantry was present at the Battle of Didgori, where despite being drastically outnumbered, the Georgians and their allies won a decisive victory against the Turks. Much of the Georgian military was comprised of medium or light infantry, but also had heavy infantry at higher ranks. To emulate this, infantry has more hit points from a bonus and a unique tech and more melee armor for swordsmen from a team bonus.
Georgians were very religious, building many churches, monasteries, and cathedrals. One monastery, the Gelati Monastery, is the basis of the Central European monastery ingame. To reflect this, Monks convert faster and Redemption is free.
Overview
The Georgians are specialized in infantry, and have extra hit points on them. In fact, Champions with the Imperial Age unique technology combined with their team bonus have a total of 97 HP. However, the Georgians do not have access to Supplies, Plate Mail Armor, or Halberdier, but at least have Blast Furnace, Squires, and Arson.
Georgian archers are average, lacking Arbalester and Hand Cannoneer, but have Thumb Ring and Heavy Cavalry Archers with Parthian Tactics.
The Georgians have Hussars but no Paladins, and, interestingly enough, have access to normal and Elite Steppe Lancers. However, they do not have Husbandry.
Georgian siege weapons are all right, with access to Siege Ram and Bombard Cannon but not Siege Onager or Heavy Scorpion. They also do not have Siege Engineers.
The Georgian Monastery is pretty good, though they lack Heresy, Herbal Medicine, Illumination, and Block Printing.
As for defenses and the University techs, they lack Hoardings, Treadmill Crane, and Heated Shot, but have access to Keeps, Fortified Walls, and even Bombard Towers.
For economy, they lack Crop Rotation, Stone Shaft Mining, and Guilds.
The Georgian navy is below average, as they lack any of the non-Galleon Imperial Age ship upgrades. They also lack Shipwright, so ships will be more expensive.
The Georgian Wonder is Svetitskhoveli Cathedral.
