- Villain protagonist, which is always funny
- Not so much conquest as destruction for destruction
- Triple counterpart to Tariq ibn Ziyad (End vs beginning), Saladin (bad vs good), and El Cid (Moor vs Christian)
- Not often seen subject or time period
Zhu Yuanzhang (1352-1402)
- At long last, a Chinese campaign
- One that is about the downfall of the Mongols, too
- Chinese using gunpowder, at least sporadically
