Unique Hausa building that can toggle between XP and Influence generation. Trains Griots and researches Alliance technologies. Most effective when near a Town Center, Trading Post, and Palace.
All Universities must generate either experience or influence; changing the resource generation on one University will change the generation of all Universities. The generation rate is increased when the University is built close to a Town Center, Trading Post, and/or Palace.
Sphere of Influence (passive): Increases the University's experience/influence generation rate for every Town Center (+0.75), Trading Post (+0.35), and Palace (+0.75) built in an AOE of 30 around it.
With the "Gobarau Minaret" Home City Card, Sphere of Influence also make buildings built 25% faster and increasing their work rate by 25% (10% for Town Centers). The effect do not stack if one building is affected by Spheres of Influence from multiple Universities.
With the "Massina Madrasahs" Home City Card, Sphere of Influence also allow villagers to gather from trees and mines 30% faster. The effect do not stack if one villager is affected by Spheres of Influence from multiple Universities.
An often overlooked feature of medieval and early modern societies in West Africa is their rich tradition of storytelling and education. The griot, a keeper of oral tradition responsible for entertaining and educating his people with tales and epics, was a key figure among several rural and nomadic groups. Other urban societies established universities in the midst of their cities to educate future scholars in religious and secular subjects.
