Tithe Barns is a technology in Age of Empires IV that can be researched at the Monastery or the Mosque in the Imperial Age. It makes Relics generate 40 food, 40 wood, 10 stone per minute.
Civilization bonuses[]
- Abbasid Dynasty: Research speeds are +15%/+20% faster while Golden Age tiers 2/3 are active. If Preservation of Knowledge has been researched, this technology costs -20%.
- Ayyubids: Research speeds are 25% faster while Golden Age tier 2 is active
- Byzantines: Research speeds are 30% faster per water level at buildings within the influence of a Cistern with the Dialecticus ability active.
- Chinese and Zhu Xi's Legacy: The technology researches 150% faster when the Monastery is supervised by an Imperial Official. For Zhu Xi's Legacy, this can be improved to 300% faster after researching Regional Inspection.
- Delhi Sultanate: The technology is free, but takes 12x as long to research (720 instead of 60 seconds).
- Malians: Technologies take less time to research based on how much gold has been obtained through trade.
- Mongols: Can research the improved version of this technology for an additional 500 stone, granting a 50% increase in the effect. In other words, the effect is further increased by 20 food, 20 wood, 5 stone.
Changelog[]
- Tithe Barns was intended to provide 30 stone every minute. Originally, Tithe Barns provided only 15 stone every minute. With the Season One Update, it was fixed.
- Mongols: With the Season One update, a bug was fixed where Tithe Barns research time was 80 seconds instead of the intended 60 seconds. It also gives the proper +30 food, wood, and stone instead of +20. With the Season Two Update, the Improved version also provides the correct amount of resources.
- Originally, the base research time for the Delhi Sultanate was 5x default (300 seconds). With update 8324, this was increased to 15x default (900 seconds). With Season Two Update 17718, it takes 12x as long (720 seconds).
- Holy Roman Empire: With update 24916, fixed an issue with the Tithe Barns technology where it was providing only 20 stone every minute, instead of the intended 30.
- With patch 9.2.628, Tithe Barns was removed from the Japanese.
- Originally, Tithe Barns provided an extra 30 food, 30 wood, 30 stone and Improved Tithe Barns provided 45 food, 45 wood, 45 stone. With patch 9.2.628, these amounts were changed to 40 food, 40 wood, 10 stone and 60 food, 60 wood, 15 stone respectively
Campaign version[]
Because the original four campaigns have not been rebalanced since the release of the game, Tithe Barns costs 650 gold in those campaigns. It otherwise has the same effect. The Mongols also do not have access to this technology in the The Mongol Empire campaign.
