Thor's Hammer Haft is a long wooden haft covered with some metallic plates being carried by three dwarves. It is one of two pieces that make up Thor's new hammer, the other being Thor's Hammer Head.

Overview[edit | edit source]

Prior to Gargarensis' invasion of the Norselands, Loki tricked Thor and smashed his hammer, Mjolnir, preventing him from interfering with the Cyclops' plans. The Dwarf brothers Brokk and Eitri were tasked into making him a new one, which becomes a significant plot element in the Fall of the Trident campaign.

Appearances in Campaigns[edit | edit source]

The haft's single appearance is in the scenario Unlikely Heroes where Brokk is in the process of fabricating it from a Taproot of the world tree Yggdrassil with the help of other dwarves. Many of Gargarensis' Myth Units will attempt to stop the creation of the haft, including a large army that will appear once the haft is 70% complete. Once the haft is complete, it must be brought close enough to Thor's Hammer Head where the pieces will assemble themselves to form Thor's new hammer and seal the gate to Tartarus.

Unit[edit | edit source]

Similar to the Osiris Piece Box, Thor's Hammer Haft is indestructible once finished but moves rather slowly. It can also be captured by enemies if their units outnumber those of the player's within range of the haft.Thankfully, this will not lead to a loss for the player as the enemy has no use for Thor's Hammer Haft and it will remain idle until it is recaptured.

Mythology[edit | edit source]

Freshly cut from the root of Yggdrasil, this is the haft of Thor's great hammer, Mjolnir, with which he will defeat the world serpent, Jormungand, at Ragnarok.
