Strategy[]

The Aztec Wise Woman provides bonuses to Farms and Estates as well as shipping Farm Travois. As farming is slower than other forms of gathering, especially for Native Americans, it may be better to choose her in the Industrial or Imperial Age.

The Haudenosaunee Wise Woman ships a variety of resources. While she ships less resources overall than the Lakota Chief after the Commerce Age, resources are useful in any age. In particular, choosing her and then The Messenger in the Fortress Age can be used as part of a Fast Fortress strategy.

The Inca Wise Woman provides Priestesses, except when aging up to the Fortress Age, which replaces the Priestesses with a free Shipment. As units that can both heal, convert, and perform ceremonies at the Community Plaza, the Priestesses are quite useful. However, the shipment she provides can be an even more versatile bonus, allowing the advancement of any strategy the player might desire. It may be good to consider whether having more Priestesses on the Community Plaza with the Gift Ceremony is more useful than a free shipment.

The Lakota Wise Woman mirrors the Aztec effect, instead providing bonuses to huntable gathering rate and providing Bison to hunt. Huntable shipments can be very valuable, especially late in the game when few huntables remain. This can be particularly beneficial with Japanese allies. In contrast, the boost to gather rates is more useful in the early game, when more huntables are available.
