The Sultans Ascend is the campaign in Age of Empires IV: The Sultans Ascend. It is based on the Crusades (1095–1291) in the viewpoint of the Muslim leaders and forces fighting against the Crusaders. The campaign comes with 8 scenarios divided into four chapters. The player plays as a campaign-only civilization, similar to the Abbasid Dynasty, which appears in various flavors - Seljuk Empire, Saladin, and Mamluk Sultanate.
