Tactics[]
The Silver Tree behaves the same as a Market and as such shares the same general tactics. Like the Mongol Market, it can pack up and move, double-produce Traders within the influence of an Ovoo, and research Improved Stone Commerce. For the Mongols, this can provide an important economic boost on maps with favorably placed Trade Posts, typically in map corners. One common strategy is to first build or move the Silver Tree within the influence of an Ovoo to jump-start Trader production using available stone, and then move it to the corner of the map opposite the Trade Post to gain more trade gold. While packed and moving, The Silver Tree can still be set as a trade destination by any allied players, and Traders will automatically resume trading with it once it unpacks. Like any trading strategy, it is important to maintain good map control to prevent the enemy from intercepting Traders, so this synergizes well with aggressive strategies like tower rushing and Keshik raids. On maps where Trade Posts are exposed or close to the starting base, it may be more beneficial to go for the Deer Stones landmark instead, as even with the discount, Traders may take too long to pay off or get easily stopped.
