“ | Reunited with her granduncle Ká:nien and Major Cooper, Amelia is determined to pursue Beaumont -- and recover the Spanish gold her ancestors lost. | ” |
The Lost Spanish Gold is the fourth scenario of the Act III: Steel campaign in Age of Empires III. It involves Amelia and Beaumont fighting for the gold and the water from the Fountain of Youth.
Summary[]
“ | After unexpectedly meeting her granduncle Ká:nien and also a Seminole map inside the mines, Amelia, Cooper and Ká:nien begin their journey to the Bayou in Florida in search of Beaumont, the Spanish gold and the water from the fountain. | ” |
Objectives[]
Primary objectives[]
- Destroy the three Outposts guarding the ruined Treasure Ships.
- Destroy Beaumont's Town Center.
Secondary objectives[]
- Build Trading Posts at the Native Villages. (500 XP reward)
- Bring Ká:nien to the revealed forest along the southeast edge of the swamp. (300 XP reward)
Players[]
- Amelia Black ( United States) - Their starting units consist of Amelia Black, Major Cooper and Ká:nien. They have established a base in Florida that has a Town Center, a House, a handful of Settlers, 6 Hussars, and 10 Musketeers.
Enemy[]
- Osseus Circle ( Circle of Ossus) - The only enemy of the scenario. They consist of Boneguard Musketeers, Pikemen, Hussars, Rodeleros, and Doppelsoldners. On Hard, they also have Falconets and War Wagons. Throughout the map they have 3 Outposts that the player must destroy (in Hard, The Circle installs Forts near the player's base that can be lethal if the player does not destroy them before being built) with the help of a Fixed Gun. Once both the Forts and Outposts are destroyed, the player must destroy the Beaumont's Town Center to win the scenario.
Treasures[]
There are 16 treasures on the map: 5 treasures around the player's base, 5 treasures around the enemy base, 3 treasures in the east of the map, and 3 treasures between the Trading Posts to the southeast.
Strategy[]
The player must prepare the base quickly before the enemy attacks begin. They should do map control by capturing the nearby treasures and Trading Posts. Create an army of Musketeers and Falconets to capture the Fixed Gun and destroy the Outposts; after this, press towards the west to destroy the walls of the Beaumont base and focus all attacks on the military buildings and the Town Center to win the scenario.
Trivia[]
- This scenario shows what was the fate of The Fountain of Youth and the Moon Lake from Act I: Blood two and a half centuries later, which became a swamp with remains of the Delgado's Spanish gold fleet destroyed during the tornado seen off-camera in that act.
- Curiously, the right-side Fixed Gun of what was the Moon Lake, despite the centuries that have passed, is still functional.
