The King's Musketeer is an Industrial Age politician in Age of Empires III, available to the British, Dutch, French, Portuguese, Russians, Spanish, and Swedes. As soon as the player advances to the Industrial Age by choosing him, the following units appear in the Home City shipment point:

Before the Definitive Edition, The King's Musketeer is available for the Russians at a level 20 Home City, the Portuguese at a level 30 Home City, and the British at a level 50 Home City.

Strategy[]

The King's Musketeer is a politician that focuses on gunpowder infantry. Because of this, he is a good follow-up politician if the player previously picked The Marksman for the French, Portuguese, and Swedes. The amount of units received is pretty substantial, so the player can immediately perform an attack with them, especially if several infantry shipments were sent.

Portuguese may pick The Logistician in the Commerce Age since in their case The Logistician gives more range to Musketeers while allowing to train them in Town Centers. Portuguese and Spanish may pick the King's Musketeer in order to later revolt with Gran Colombia as that revolution will turn all Musketeers into Independence Guards that are overall better than Musketeers. British and French may pick The King's Musketeer and then follow up with the Canada revolution for picking the Fencibles shipment which will improve all their Musketeers
