The Ethiopian Queen is a Portuguese Fortress Age politician in Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition - Knights of the Mediterranean introduced in update 13.27885, and replaces The Mohawk Statesman. As soon as the player advances to the Fortress Age by choosing her, 5 Elite Shotel Warriors appear in the Home City shipment point.
Strategy[]
The Ethiopian Queen is a good option for players that focus on infantry, but require a unit that can fill the role of cavalry at least temporarily. Shotel Warriors are shock infantry, so they may fill the melee cavalry role to a degree. The Portuguese do not have access to cavalry-focused politicians such as The Scout or The Cavalry Marshal, so The Ethiopian Queen can be a replacement when they need to raid an opponent in the middle game.
The Portuguese does not have any shipment card that apply to Shotel Warriors; however, the infantry technologies from Advanced Arsenal will improve the Shotel Warriors, and instead of aging up to the Imperial Age, the player may prefer to revolt with Peru, which can ship the Junรญn Hussars card to improve the Shotel Warrior movement speed.
Trivia[]
- Apparently this politician is Seble Wongel, incorrectly called Queen Sabla Wengel in the game.
- The Ethiopian Queen is the second female politician after The Naturalist.
