The Black Watch is a technology in Age of Empires III that is unique to the British and can be researched at the Church once the Fortress Age is reached and the The Glorious Revolution Home City Card has been sent. Once researched, 8 Highlanders named Black Watch will appear in the Home City shipment point, all existing Highlanders will be renamed to Black Watches, enables them to be trained at the Tavern, increases their Line of Sight by 3 and their ranged attack range by 1, and get the Regeneration ability (which regenerate 0.15% hit points per second, instead of the usual 0.25%).
The Canada revolution renames Highlanders to Black Watches and also allows the player to ship them through the "14 Blackwatch Highlanders" Home City Card, that can be sent an infinite number of times and costs 1,000 coin.
