The Teutonic Grand Master is a recurring non-playable heavy melee infantry leader exclusive to the The Sultans Ascend campaign in Age of Empires IV: The Sultans Ascend. It is an elite unit appearing in several scenarios that often leads a group of Teutonic Knights in enemy Frankish Crusader armies.

Description[]

The Teutonic Grand Master is a stronger version of of the Teutonic Knight with significantly more attack and damage. Its stats are further boosted by various technologies in different scenarios. In its fully-upgraded state, with 1,020 hit points, 14 pierce and melee armor, and 58 attack, it can take down entire groups of units single-handedly and therefore should only be engaged with large amounts of Crossbowmen or siege engines, or outnumbered with other high-attack heavy units such as Lancers.

Campaign appearances[]

  • The Teutonic Grand Master stands outside some tents in the north corner of the map in The Battle of Mansurah. If he is killed, the rest of the Teutonic Knights will abandon their post.
  • A Grand Master leads a group of Teutonic Knights on the right flank of the third attacking wave in The Battle of Ayn Jalut.
  • Groups of Teutonic Knights led by a Grand Master guard the inner part of the city of Acre in The Siege of Acre and will attack the player once the walls have been breached.
