Improved technologies[]

The following technologies are exlusive to the Mongols, and need an Ovoo influence to be available. These technologies are researched in the same time and at the same building as the regular technology. The cost of these technologies is basically the regular cost + sum of regular resource costs in the form of stone. For example, if the regular technology costs 50 food, 50 wood, the Improved technology will cost 50 food, 50 wood, 100 stone. If only the regular technology has been researched, the improved version can be researched but the cost and effect of the regular technology will be subtracted from the improved technology. The Improved technologies are denoted by an upwards pointing arrow in the lower left corner.

The technologies were probably removed because these were too strong to begin with. Units with only Castle Age Improved technologies (2x2) could have more attack and armor than their counterparts with Imperial Age regular technologies (1x3).

Civilization bonuses[]

  • Delhi Sultanate AoE4 Delhi Sultanate: All the technology is free, but takes longer to research. Dark Age technologies take 3 times as long to research, Feudal Age technologies 3.5 times as long, Castle Age technologies 5 times as long and finally Imperial Age technologies 12 times times as long.
  • French AoE4 French: Economic technologies are 30% cheaper. Blacksmith melee attack upgrades are free but require a Blacksmith.
  • Abbasid Dynasty AoE4 Abbasid Dynasty: Siege Engineering is free from start.
  • Chinese AoE4 Chinese: Chemistry is free from start.
