Taxiarchs is a unique technology in Chronicles: Battle for Greece available to the Athenians at the Fort upon reaching the Classical Age. Once researched, it increases the radius of Strategoi's aura by 33% and grants them the ability to increase the attack of the player's nearby melee units (infantry and cavalry) by +1.
The player can research only either Taxiarchs or Trierarchies. Once either is chosen, the option to research the other is removed.
Bug[]
- A major bug exists with the interaction between this and the Elite Strategos technology. If Taxiarchs is researched after Elite Strategos is researched, the Elite Strategos technology is lost and the player's Elite Strategoi revert to Strategoi. No bug occurs if Taxiarchs is researched before Elite Strategos.
Trivia[]
- Taxiarch refers to a brigadier in ancient Greek armies.
- Despite the technology stating that it grants additional aura effect to melee units, it does not affect melee units other than infantry and cavalry. Unaffected melee units are Monoremes, Villagers, Incendiary Rafts, Battering Rams, Mangonels, Catapult Ships, and Leviathans.
