The Chinese counterpart of the EgyptianScarab and AtlanteanBehemoth, the Taowu is a highly durable anti-building myth unit. While slow, its Rampage ability allows it to gain a brief burst of speed, also knocking away any enemy units that get in its way. This can also be used to have the Taowu charge head-first into an enemy town and begin dealing damage before the rest of the player's forces arrive. With the Frenzied Dash technology, the Taowu can dash faster and deal more damage to any enemies it kicks away during its dash.
Taowus can, of course, be used to eliminate human soldiers, although they are better being left to destroy buildings. Compared to their Egyptian and Atlantean counterparts, Taowus have decent hack armor, allowing them to withstand melee attacks for longer. However, they require more favor to train, costing 28 favor whereas the Scarab requires 18 favor and the Behemoth costs 20 favor. As with all myth units, Taowus are easily defeated by heroes. Furthermore, their slow speed also makes them a target of fast melee myth units like the Anubite and Yazi, both of which can easily strike first with their respective special abilities.
With update 18.12962, Taowu's ability weight class limit was increased to 6 (to include most cavalry units).
