—In-game description |
Standing Army is a technology in Age of Empires III that can be researched by European civilizations, Ethiopians and Japanese at the Church (Mosque for the Hausa and Ottomans, Meeting House for the United States, Cathedral for the Mexicans, Basilica for the Italians) once the Industrial Age is reached. Once researched, infantry and shock infantry training time is reduced by 25%.
Civilization differences[]

- The Ethiopians can gain access to the Church by allying with the Jesuits, while the Hausa can gain access to the Mosque by allying with the Moroccans. Both civilizations can then research Standing Army from the Commerce Age for 350 influence.
