The Spirit Way is a military landmark available to the Chinese in Age of Empires IV in the Castle Age which provides various dynasty-related bonuses.
Special ability[]
The Spirit Way provides the following benefits:
- Dynasty units can be upgraded at the Spirit Way two and a half times as fast and at 50% the normal cost.
- When a dynasty unit dies, all friendly units within 1.5 tiles receive a 20% attack speed bonus for 10 seconds and heal 20 health over 10 seconds. This encourages the player to mix in dynasty units with their regular army.
- The building serves as a tax dropoff site.

Changelog[]
- Originally, the Spirit Way made training dynasty units at nearby production buildings 30% cheaper. It also re-unlocked dynasty units. With dynasty units becoming permanently available once unlocked as of Season Two Update 17718, this feature became obsolete and The Spirit Way gained the ability to research dynasty-related upgrades at a 50% reduction in both cost and research time. Furthermore, when a dynasty unit dies, nearby friendly units receive an attack speed bonus of 20% and heal 20 hit points over 10 seconds.
- Originally, the Spirit Way researched upgrades twice as fast. With update 24916, it researches +150% faster (66% percent reduction in research time).
- With update 7.0.5861, the Spirit Way is now a tax dropoff site.
