Mythology

Horus set out to vanquish Set. He stood at the prow of a barge protected by the spells of Isis. He had a chained spear fashioned for the hunt, and Thoth laid great spells upon Horus’ splendid weapon. The spear flashed and glittered. Set, in the form of a great, red hippopotamus, attacked the barge of Horus, but the spells of Isis held, and the barge was untouched. With a mighty heave, Horus cast the shining spear into the neck of the hippopotamus and Set, murderer of Osiris and enemy of Ra, was destroyed.
