Snappers are a species of saltwater fish, featured exclusively in Age of Empires II.
They are among the most common species of fish in the game, appearing the majority of coastal maps, but not in river maps, such as Highland (where only Salmons and Shore Fish can be found) or some others, such as Salt Marsh (where Perches are the dominant fish).
Snappers are often found close to Tunas and Marlins.

- The name "Snapper" refers to a variety of fish. The family Lutjanidae, commonly referred to as snappers, consists of over 100 species, and numerous other fish are known as "Snappers".
- The in-game appearance is likely based on the Northern red snapper, though it also bears close resemblance to other species in the Lutjanus genus.
