—In-game description
The Shrine of the Hunt is a Japanesebuilding that is created by invoking the eponymous god power on a Shrine. The upgraded Shrine has more hit points and periodically spawns huntable Deer as well as non-huntable friendly Wolves that defend the area. If either animal is killed after the limit has been reached, it is soon replaced by the Shrine. It also acts as a drop-off site for food collected by Commoners.
Special ability[]
Warden's Blessing (Passive): Spawns a huntable Deer and a guardian Wolf every 50 seconds, maintaining a population of up to 10 of each by replacing any that are killed, and in the case of the Deer, have their meat fully exhausted (by harvesting or spoilage) with a delay of about 10 seconds.

God bonuses[]
Amaterasu: Shrines of the Hunt slowly increase the content of nearby resources (including herdable animals) by up to 150%.

The Wolves spawned at the Shrine of the Hunt are myth units which automatically attack any enemy units that approach. They belong to the player, but cannot be controlled and will remain near the Shrine where they were spawned to defend it. They are moderately powerful units for the Classical Age, but are spawned automatically for free at the Shrine up to a maximum of 10 at one time. Whenever a Wolf is killed, it respawned at the Shrine after a delay of about 10 seconds. The wolf is a myth unit and not an animal; as such, it cannot be hunted by workers, unlike the spawned Deer.

God bonuses[]
Susanoo: Generates Bushidō XP when damaging enemy units.
Wolves appear frequently in Japanese legends. One of the most famous stories involves the folktale of the senbiki ōkami – a mythical pack of wolves that roam mountain roads at night. If a traveler is unfortunate enough to be walking alone and the wolves encounter them, the traveler typically escapes by climbing up a tree. What makes the ōkami wolves especially supernatural is that, once their human prey is treed, they climb on top of one another to form a living ladder in an attempt to reach the unlucky traveler.
