“ | Used to build and upgrade military ships. | ” |
—In-game description |
The Shipyard is a Civic Age miltiary building in Chronicles. It handles only the military aspects of a Dock in Age of Empires II. Advanced warships can be trained and upgraded in this building. Constructing a Shipyard counts towards the building requirement for advancing to the Classical Age.
The maritime economic matters are handled by the Port.

Architecture[]
Greek[]
The Greek Shipyard is based on the ancient Greek neosoikoi ship houses. It has a hypaethral opening, though this was more commonly a feature of some Hellenistic period temples.
Persian[]
The Persian Shipyard is a Mesopotamianized version of the neosoikoi with glazed blue bricks. It features the decorative flowers from the Ishtar Gate and Achaemenid style column capitols.
Trivia[]
- Despite being available in the Civic Age, its appearance matches the Classical Age architecture sets and does not change after progressing to the next Age.
- The Slavic team bonus does not affect Shipyards either.
