Objectives[]
- Seek Shelter
- Reach the friendly village. (The friendly village is nearby, but stay alert, as Shinobi may attack from anywhere.)
- Ally with the Shinobi
- Destroy Kagemasa's raider camps before the Shinobi are defeated. (Kagemasa has turned on his Shinobi allies. If you help defend them and destroy the enemy's forward raider camps, the Shinobi will join your side. Build up quickly and be ready to defend both Shinobi camps.)
- Defeat Kagemasa
- Destroy Kagemasa's Castle. (Kagemasa controls a well-fortified base in the northwest. It will be difficult to attack it head-on. Explore your surroundings for anything that could be of help.)
- (Optional) Knock over the unstable boulders onto Kagemasa's buildings to create an entrance. (The Shinobi have revealed unstable boulders that can be toppled onto Kagemasa's buildings to create an opening. The western boulder will let you disrupt his economy, while the eastern boulder gives you a better chance to destroy his Castle.)
Spotlight[]
| “ | The Shinobi is an exotic melee warrior available from the Dojo in the Heroic Age. Specialized in catching your enemy off guard, Shinobi perform well in battle against ranged soldiers and buildings. Their special ability temporarily increases movement speed and damage, allowing you to swiftly engage and disengage enemy forces. Like other Dojo units, the Shinobi contributes significantly to your Bushidō XP in combat. Bushidō XP is earned by battling enemies and unlocks new improvements for your civilization once enough XP has been gathered. |

Player[]
- Harumoto (
Tsukuyomi):
Enemy → Ally[]
- Shinobi (
Tsukuyomi): This player will attack Harumoto's troops with Shinobi hiding underneath the trees. After Harumoto reaches the base, the Shinobi will become allies, as Kagemasa will begin targeting them. If all of the allied Shinobi die, the scenario is failed. However, if the allied Shinobi survive and both of Kagemasa's raider camps are destroyed, the Shinobi and their buildings will fall under Harumoto's control.
Enemy[]
- Kagemasa (
Susanoo): Owns a huge, heavily fortified base in the northwest. The eastern and western ends of the base have destructible boulders that allow for easier access into the base. - Kagemasa's Eastern Raiders (
Susanoo): Will attack the Shinobi's eastern base. - Kagemasa's Western Raiders (
Susanoo): Will attack the Shinobi's western base.
Strategy[]

Immediately use the Shogun God Power on Harumoto to give him a power boost, then fight the way to the village. Be warned; the Shinobi seem to deal heavy bonus damage to Harumoto, even if the player makes him a Shogun, so he cannot afford to tank too much damage. Instead, have the non-hero units attack the Shinobi whenever they appear.
Once the player has gotten the village, Kagemasa will betray the Shinobi for their failure and try to destroy them. The player will want to make a force of cavalry to quickly move between the two bases and stop the incoming raids. Make sure to get Daimyos, Bushis, and Onna-mushas to counter any myth units. As for resources, the forest the player came through to reach the town will provide an ample source of wood and is a perfect spot to place some Shrines for favor. While the player defends against the raiders, build up a Castle or two so the player can train some siege and destroy the raider camps.
Once the player has dealt with the raider camps, the player will need to destroy Kagemasa's main Castle. The rocks on the northern side of his base are the best spot to launch the attack from, as it will provide the shortest path to the objective. Depending on which units the player trains for the final attack, Ōkuninushi is recommended for training lots of Oyumi and Onmoraki, especially with his Mechanical Artisans technology that boosts Oyumi attack and range. The Onmoraki can also attack from the air, thus only being targetable by enemy ranged units and fortifications. Otherwise, if the player chooses to use lots of Shinobi and Onmyōji, Watatsumi is the better option thanks to his Seaside Infiltrators and Onmyōdō technologies, as well as his Dragon Typhoon god power.
