Shinkichon is a technology in Age of Empires II: The Conquerors that is unique to the Koreans and can be researched at the Castle once the Imperial Age is reached. Once researched, it increases Mangonel, Onager, and Siege Onager range by +1.
Strategy[]
If the player decides to invest in Onagers, researching Shinkichon allows them to outmatch the range of almost all archers and most other ranged units. Furthermore, they can no longer be outranged by Galleons, which makes them especially valuable on maps with a naval focus. With Siege Engineers also researched, Korean Siege Onagers are one of the most dangerous siege weapons in the game.
Team bonuses[]
- Portuguese: Researching Shinkichon is 25% faster.
Changelog[]

History[]
โ | Although the Chinese are credited with the invention of gunpowder, many believe it was the Korean kingdom of Koryo that first employed rocketry and perhaps gunpowder as some sort of weapon. The chroniclers of this period mention Koryo rockets and cannons as being very important to the success of their armies. The long existence of the Koryo and Choson kingdoms required a strong military because only the sea and the Amnok River stood between them and a host of potential enemies. | โ |
