A farm blessed by Shennong. Is gathered faster and heals nearby villagers.
—In-game description

Shennong's Farm is an Archaic Age building in Age of Mythology: Retold - Immortal Pillars that is only available to the Chinese major god Shennong through invoking his god power Prosperous Seeds on regular Farms. It has more hit points and yields food faster than regular Farms, heals nearby friendly worker units, and conceals friendly non-flying units on it (including Titans). Units under stealth refrain from attacking nearby enemies, no matter their stance, or if they were tasked to attack move or patrol. Units inside the Farm attacking anything lose their stealth only while attacking. Villagers do not lose stealth if they are attacking animals.

A Shennong's Farm can be captured by another player's workers, just like a regular Farm. It bestows the same benefits to the new player, whether they are playing as Shennong or any other major god.

Special abilities[]

  • Prosperous Seeds (Passive): Villagers have a bonus gathering rate when harvesting Food from this blessed farm.
  • Shennong's Protection (Passive): Grants invisibility to units located on this Farm. (Invisibility to both the player's and their allies' units (except flying units) while they are not attacking anything. Villagers attacking animals also do not break stealth)
  • Heals friendly Villagers on it by 1 HP/s.

Mythology[]

Shennong, worshipped as the god of agriculture and medicine, famously tested hundreds of herbs to discover their medicinal qualities for the Chinese people. He also taught them how to sow the five grains, including millet, wheat, and rice, and how to correctly store grain seeds. His contributions greatly benefited the health and prosperity of all Chinese people.

Trivia[]

  • Shennong's Farm looks similar to the regular Chinese Farm, but with a glowing green light orb hovering above it, and numerous firefly-like green lights flickering among its stalks. It also has its own unique select sound.
  • Due to an oversight, when the Farm's hack armor was increased to 40% in update 18.33318, the hack armor of Shennong's Farms remained unchanged. As a result, transforming Farms into Shennong's Farms results in the building's hack vulnerability increasing by 10%.
