Shajar al-Durr is an economic leader in the The Sultans Ascend campaign in Age of Empires IV: The Sultans Ascend. She appears as a playable unit in the The Battle of Mansurah scenario. She has the ability to inspire Villagers, similarly to a Prelate, and can appoint Spies which are used to infiltrate the enemy camp. She has no combat ability, so should be kept defended within the walls of the town. If she falls in battle, she will respawn at the Leader Tent after 60 seconds.
Ability[]
- Inspire Villager (passive/active): This ability gives Villagers the Inspired enhancement, allowing them to gather 40% faster. The Inspired enhancement lasts for 30 seconds, and it takes about 4 seconds after inspiring a Villager before Shajar can inspire another unit. She can therefore keep about 8 Villagers inspired at a time. The ability can be targeted, but Shajar will also automatically inspire Villagers on her own within the five-tile ability radius.
- Appoint Spy (active): Shajar al-Durr can 'appoint' (create) a Spy for 100 gold. The ability can be cast anywhere, but Shajar will travel to within 2.5 tiles of the target before casting. The ability has only a 1 second cooldown, but only three Spies can be appointed at once.

Trivia[]
- The Appoint Spy ability was originally intended to convert Villagers into Spies, rather than simply spawn them. This is still indicated in her help text, as well as the ability name in the editor "Convert to Spy"
