—Map description |
Serengeti is a random map in Age of Empires II HD: The African Kingdoms.
Description[]
This map can be considered as the African version of Arabia, as it is another open map with resources spread thinner than in most maps.
Wood is in medium-sized bunches, and this, combined with a profound lack of chokepoints makes it extremely hard to turtle. Gold and Stone are of average placement, but just like the wood, gold and stone near the front of the camp can lend itself to a target of a rush by an enemy. Early attacks on an enemy's resources can cripple them or just end the game outright.
Environment[]
Local wild fauna include Zebras, Ostriches, Elephants and Lions. Also, Goats can be herded, and Storks fly above the vast, arid spaces. Also, Fruit Bushes make their appearance as a safe source of food.
Serengeti features a vast, quite featureless area (save for some rock pillars) that blurs the line between a savannah and a desert, with sun-baked terrain. Trees include African acacias and Baobabs.
