The Brewery will create Toko-Koji Mats around itself which can be worked by Villagers to generate Gold. Villagers can drop-off Stone and Gold at this building.
”
—In-game description
The Sake Brewery is an economic landmark in Age of Empires IV: Dynasties of the East, available to the Sengoku Daimyo in the Feudal Age. It acts as a stone and gold drop-off location, and automatically generates Toko-Koji Mats that can be worked by Villagers to generate gold. Unlike the Kura Storehouse, the Sake Brewery does not generate any compensatory resources if it cannot find space to create the mats, so it should be build with free space surrounding it.
Mat Create: (Passive): Upon completion, the Sake Brewery immediately creates up to five Toko-Koji Mats in any of the 12 adjacent 2-by-2 tile areas that are available. The order of the positions in which the mats are placed is shown in the image to the right. If a particular position is blocked, the Brewery attempts to create a mat in the next position. If one or more mats are destroyed, the Brewery will attempt to create a new mat every 30 seconds.
Brewery Delivery (Passive): When 350 gold is collected from the Toko-Koji Mats, a Brewery Transporter makes a sake delivery to the nearest Matsuri. Upon arrival, the Matsuri gains a 60 second Brewery Buff which increases the health of Villagers in its aura by 40%. The delivery cannot be redirected using the 'Redirect Yatai' ability. If there is no Matsuri available, gold will continue building up in the Sake Brewery until one is built, at which point Brewery Transporters will immediately be created equal to the amount of stored resources divided by 350 (up to a maximum of four).
Toko-Koji Mats[]
“
Use a Villager to work at the Brewery generating gold. Only one Villager can work each Toko-Koji mat.
”
—In-game description
Toko-Koji Mats function very similar to Farms, but for gold instead of food. Villagers gather gold from them at a rate of 1.45 gold per second. When included walking time, this results in an approximate gold income of 280 gold per minute from five Villagers working. The gather rate is affected by the gold gathering technologies, namely: Specialized Pick and Shaft Mining, but the gold drop-off amount is not affected by Cupellation. The gather rate can also be improved with generic upgrades and abilities such as the Matsuri Aura and the Farmhouse technologies. Since they are considered buildings, Toko-Koji can be targeted and destroyed by enemy units, and they are also affected by Court Architects. Villagers will automatically begin collecting from the mats once the Sake Brewery is completed, unless there is a nearby Gold Vein or Stone Outcropping, from which the Villagers will prioritize gathering first.
Brewery Transporter[]
The Brewery Transporter is a temporary unit that travels from the Sake Brewery to the nearest Yatai, where it disappears once it grants the Brewery Buff. It always spawns at the southern corner of the brewery. Up to four can be created at one time. The Brewery Transporter cannot cross water and if it is somehow blocked from reaching the Matsuri, it will remain idle for 30 seconds before dying.
