| —In-game description | ||
The Sacred Gate is a Japanese building that is created by invoking the Sacred Gate god power at a target location. It is a giant, otherworldly torii gate that immediately grants the invoking player one free use of all available god powers (apart from Sacred Gate), then reduces their reuse cost by 20% so long as the gate remains under their control.
Unlike regular constructible buildings, it is indestructible. It can be captured by units of any other player, including enemies, if none of the current owner's units or buildings are nearby. Players who capture the Sacred Gate (but did not invoke it) benefit from the god power reuse cost reduction, but do not receive a free additional use of their god powers.

History[]
| “ | The torii gate is perhaps one of the most recognizable architectural features of Japan. Typically painted vermillion, torii gates mark the entrance to sacred Shintō shrines. Though there are many variations, a torii gate generally consists of two wooden pillars with two crossbeams spanning the top. The top crossbeam is usually slightly curved. Some of the most famous torii gates in Japan can be found at the Itsukushima Shrine, Fushimi Inari Taisha, and the Hakone Shrine. There are approximately 90,000 torii gates in Japan. |
