Strategy[]

For Nüwa players, choosing Houtu in the Classical Age and Rushou in Heroic will allow them to use the Earth Wall and Fei Beasts god powers in tandem, trapping groups of enemy units in an area where the Feis can be spawned for maximum effect. Nüwa's building bonuses also synergize well with Rushou's Autumn of Abundance technology and Pixiu, as it makes building a protective line of towers along trade routes easier and more effective, while the towers' increased Favored Land range will make the Pixiu better able to benefit from the speed boost provided by Silk Road.

For Shennong players, choosing Chiyou in the Classical Age, Rushou in Heroic, and Huangdi in Mythic will give them the most out of their infantry units, improving their armor, hit points, and attack, particularly against myth units or when in large numbers, while also making them cheaper and easier to mass with discounted Training Yards. Chiyou and Rushou also specifically improve Ge Halberdiers and Dao Swordsmen respectively, making the former more effective against cavalry, while granting the latter increased pierce resistance.

Mythology[]

Rushou, the deity of autumn in Chinese mythology, is depicted with a human face, tiger claws, and white hair. He wields a battle-axe, has a snake coiled around his left ear, and rides on two dragons. Rushou also serves as the guardian god of the West.

In ancient China, executions were often carried out in the autumn, so Rushou was also considered the god of punishment.
