Riveted Chain Mail is a unique technology in Age of Empires IV available to the Holy Roman Empire that can be researched at the Meinwerk Palace in the Feudal Age*. Once researched, it grants Spearmen and Horsemen 2 extra melee armor.

- Originally, Riveted Chain Mail was researched at the Barracks for 150 food, 350 gold and had a 60 second research time. With update 6.0.878, it is researched at the Meinwerk Palace for 45 food, 105 gold (base 75 food, 175 gold, reduced by landmark bonus) and a 46 second research time. With patch 8.2.218, the cost was reduced to 30 food, 75 gold (base 50 food, 125 gold, reduced by landmark bonus) and the research time was reduced to 43 second. With update 10.0.576, the landmark cost discount and research speed bonus was increased to 50%, further reducing the cost to 25 food, 63 gold and the research time to 40 seconds.
- Originally, it gave Spearmen +3 melee armor. With update 6.0.878, it gives Spearmen and Horsemen +2 melee armor.
