| —In-game description | ||
The Riddari is a unique heavy melee cavalry unit for the Macedonian Dynasty in Age of Empires IV: Dynasties of the East that replaces the Knight. It is trained at the Varangian Stronghold or Stable starting in the Castle Age.
Ability[]
- Thrown Axes: Switch to Throwing Axes, dealing melee damage from range for 10 seconds.
Tactics[]
Similar to Knights, Riddaris are heavy cavalry units with high hit points and armor. Instead of a charge attack, Riddaris can swap to a throwing axe for a short period of time, allowing them to deal melee damage from afar. Although the damage and fire rate is lower than their standard melee attack, this can allow Riddaris to employ hit and run tactics or inflict heavy damage at the start of a battle before needing to close the distance.
