This article is about the god power in the handheld video game. For the god power in the PC game, see Relic (Age of Mythology).

Relics are magical objects in Age of Empires: Mythologies that each confer a different bonus to a player once picked up by a hero. Unlike in Age of Mythology, heroes do not need to deposit the relic in a Temple to gain its benefits. Instead the benefits are automatically granted to the player should a hero stand on the same time as one and is instructed to collect the relic as its action. Some relics even affect enemy units. A hero can only carry one relic, but players who managed to train several heroes (notably the Greeks) can collect multiple relics. A hero drops a relic on the tile they were standing on when killed.

Relics are found in skirmishes and campaigns. In the former they are randomized but in the latter they are not. In both cases, they can be found by defeating neutral myth units scattered around the map who will then make the relic appear upon death. Heroes can easily defeat the myth units guarding a relic but would have to wait until next turn to collect it.

Trivia[]

  • Some relics are bugged as they don't always affect all units in the class listed but just human units of the class.
  • The Hades' Helm of Invisibility relic's effect is similar to Nyx's Mother of Deceit research.
  • The Megingjord Belt of Strength relic also reduces the food cost of buildings by 10%. This may be an oversight.
