Spotlight[]
“ | Freyr is a Norse Major God of fertility and kingship. He favors defense and economic strength over early raiding. Freyr's God Power calls the mighty golden boar Gullinbursti to defend a Town Center or Hill Fort. Gullinbursti grows more powerful each Age and can repel most attacks. Freyr's unique technology, Freyr's Gift, significantly increases the hitpoints of all of your human soldiers and villagers. Followers of Freyr will find their technologies cheaper, but longer to research. They can repair buildings at no cost, and their Gatherers and Dwarves can repair as well. Finally, Freyr allows players to worship the Minor Gods Ullr, Aegir, and Vidar, each of whom provide their own unique God Powers, myth units, and technologies. |

Players[]
Player[]
This section needs expansion. You can help by adding to it. |
- Reginleif ( Freyr): The player starts in the south of the map with a small Norse village consisting of some workers and soldiers, joined by Reginleif and her Valkyries.
Enemy[]
- Fallen Warriors ( Loki): Represents the Draugar roaming in the ruins of the Norse settlements north of the player's base.
- Gargarensis ( Loki): His stronghold is in the north of the map. He begins regular attacks on the player from the start of the game. His raiders include Raiding Cavalry, Hirdmen, and Trolls. Late in the game, he also attacks with larger armies consisting of the previously mentioned joined by Hersirs, Throwing Axemen, and Portable Rams.
- Folstag Frost Giants ( Loki): His base is in the snow-covered western parts of the map. They initially ignore the player due to their feuds with Halogi, but they eventually also start attacking with Frost Giants, Mountain Giants, and Throwing Axemen.
- Halogi's Fire Giants ( Loki): They are located on the mountainous cliffs in the northeast of the map, and train armies of Rock Giants, Fire Giants, Hirdmen, and Throwing Axemen. They are also initially not aggressive, and join the attacks against the player last.
- Fafnir's Lair ( Loki): The Fafnirs make their home in a hidden section of the cavern filled with Gold Mines in the far east of the map. They reveal themselves only when the player's workers enter the mine. More Fafnirs keep spawning from the Temple in the eastern section of the cavern until it is destroyed.
Strategy[]

Shift all Gatherers to food sources first to be able to age up to the Classical Age quickly, then redistribute them. Use Reginleif to collect Relics and kill the Draugar in the north. Take advantage of the 6 fishing spots in the river to the west, as they are never targeted by the enemy. Wall all chokepoints except one. Use towers and/or ranged units behind walls to prompt them to attack through the open chokepoint, where the main crux of the forces can be kept. Draw the enemies to Town Centers/Hill Forts and utilize Gullinbursti, who is a powerful hero boar.
Upon discovering the Gold Mine cave, send a worker and a decent squadron of Hersirs/Godis to trigger the Fafnirs' attack. Kill the dragons and their Temple to end the threat and be able to mine the gold peacefully. Alternatively, the player can wall off the Temple and farm the Fafnirs for 300 gold per dragon.
Eventually, the player should adopt a mixed army with an emphasis on anti-myth and area damage. Fire Giants and Fafnirs are both exceptional here, and Hersirs get a number of strong benefits from worshipping Vidar.
Destroy the Town Centers of the enemy to force them to resign. Destroying Folstag or Halogi before attacking Gargarensis can make the final assault easier.
Trivia[]
- The layout and premise of this scenario has some similarities to Close to Home.
- Reginleif has unique lines that she utters if the player ages up with the new gods, i.e. Ullr, Aegir, and Vidar.
- Another character from the original campaign, Niordsir, appears in the ending cutscene, where Reginleif instructs him to keep track of Gargarensis' activities.
