Rabid Wolves were introduced once Age of Empires game mode was launched in Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition - Return of Rome. Unlike most other predators in Age of Empires, including the ones ported in to Return of Rome from Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, Rabid Wolves do not contain any food.

The Rabid Wolf is a wild animal that is only available in the Scenario Editor in Age of Empires II.

The Rabid Wolf is a slightly stronger version of the regular Wolf, having five additional hit points and holding a greater attack, however, their Line of Sight is much shorter. Rabid Wolves easily kill Villagers without Loom, and can even win against Villagers with Loom if they land the first hit, which makes them much more dangerous than regular Wolves.

It is worth noting that the Rabid Wolf takes no bonus damage from Magyar Villagers.
