The Queen was a hero in Age of Empires II HD: The Forgotten. As a hero, she could not be converted and could regenerate health. Since the Definitive Edition, she is a regular unit instead of a hero, but is still immune to conversion. Despite this, she still has the Hero armor class, just like the King. She is based on a generic queen, the female head of a monarchy.
She performs the same functions as her male counterpart, and as such has no attack, but a fast movement speed (though slower than the King) and a decent Line of Sight. She is available in the Scenario Editor.

Trivia[]
- Queens identical to the ones in The Forgotten were already discussed in the fifth Design Document of Ensemble Studios, dated July 17, 1998.
- Like the Khan and the cheat unit Sharkatzor, the Queen has a glow in her icon without being a hero unit.
