A flying dragon that shoots water projectiles at enemies, the Qinglong can only be attacked by ranged units. Its special attack involves it triggering a watery explosion in a decently sized area, damaging a lot of enemy units at once. Human soldiers and myth units with low pierce armor are especially vulnerable. While rather expensive to mass, the Qinglong is highly powerful in groups. A group of them can take down a Titan when given sufficient support from the ground. Players can also send a small group of Qinglongs to a group of enemy villagers gathered around Gold Mines away from the safety of their base, use their Aqua Burst ability on them, and leave a dent in the enemy player's economy.
When upgraded with Rising Tide, Qinglongs gain an increase to their attack speed as they deal damage, eventually being able to attack twice as quickly. This makes them even deadlier, especially in the Wonder Age, where they have even more hit points, deal even more damage, and move even faster.
As a myth unit, the Qinglong is weak against heroes. Ranged heroes like the Godi, Pioneer, and Priest are the best option, as are all of the Greek heroes, since they switch to a ranged attack when fighting flying units. Likewise, ranged myth units are also viable against the Qinglong, especially the Fire Giant, whose projectiles deal both hack and crush damage, the former being the Qinglong's weakest armor. Qinglongs can also be taken out with ranged fortifications, especially since the Qinglong's projectiles deal pierce damage, which is usually ineffective against buildings.
Qinglongs have a speed of 5.3, an attack range of 16, and their special ability's water wave deal 15 divine damage plus 50 pierce damage on the initial hit. Their normal attack inflicts 50 pierce damage.
With update 18.12962, Qinglongs have an attack range of 12, and their special ability's water wave deal 10 divine damage.
With update 18.21333, Qinglongs deal 80 pierce damage with their normal attack and 35 pierce pierce damage on the initial hit of their special ability. Their speed is reduced to 4.3.
The Azure Dragon, known as Qinglong in Chinese mythology, represents the direction of the East and the spring season. Alongside Baihu, Qinglong is also considered one of the protection deities in Chinese mythology.
Because spring symbolizes the beginning of a new year, Qinglong is also associated with good fortune and prosperity.
