Preservation of Knowledge is a unique technology available to the Abbasid Dynasty in Age of Empires IV that can be researched at the House of Wisdom (with the Culture Wing upgrade) starting in the Feudal Age. Once researched, the cost of all future technologies and Age-ups is reduced by 20%.

While in Golden Age Tier 2/3, the research speed of this technology is +15%/+20%, respectively.

Changelog

• Originally, Preservation of Knowledge took 60 seconds to research. With patch 14681, this was decreased to 30 seconds.
• Originally, Preservation of Knowledge applied only to technologies and made them 30% cheaper. With the Season Four Update, it now applies to Age-ups as well as technologies, but makes them only 20% cheaper.
• Originally, Preservation of Knowledge cost 50 wood, 125 gold. With patch 6.1.130, it costs 25 wood, 75 gold.
