—Age of Empires IV description |
The Prayer Tent is a religious building in Age of Empires IV available to the Mongols that can be built starting in the Castle Age. It is analogous to the Monastery, and produces religious units and houses religious technologies.
Starting in the Castle Age, Shamans can pick up Relics and place them in this building to generate Gold. A Prayer Tent can hold a maximum of three Relics. Relics stay within and move with a Prayer Tent while packed, but they do not generate Gold until the Prayer Tent unpacks again.
Abilities and influences[]
Ovoo Influence (Influence): Requires Monastic Shrines. After researching, new Prayer Tents can generate the Ovoo influence, an 8 x 8 tile influence area that enables double production and improved technologies for all buildings within the area (including the Prayer Tent itself). Note: This does not affect the Prayer Tent at which Monastic Shrines is researched.

Available technologies[]
Further statistics[]
As the Prayer Tent is unique to the Mongols, only boosts/upgrades that are available to them are shown in the following table:
Hit points | Court Architects (+30%) |
Ability | Monastic Shrines (Grants Ovoo influence) Ovoo Influence (Can train two units at a time for an additional cost of stone) |
Other | Can pack up and move |

Changelog[]
- Originally, Prayer Tents could hold 5 Relics. With Season Two Update 17718, they can only hold 3.
Campaign version[]
Because the original four campaigns have not been rebalanced since the release of the game, Prayer Tents have the following main differences in those campaigns:
- They cost only 150 wood
- They cannot research Tithe Barns
- The Monastic Shrines technology is bugged such that it has no effect and can be researched multiple times
